How can I tell whether a hospital imaging link can be handled?

Not sure whether your hospital imaging link can be downloaded? Start with two checks: is the link still valid, and can the study be viewed in a standard browser? Then choose download, conversion, or export based on what the portal actually provides.

Compatibility signals

These signals usually provide a basis for adaptation, while the actual method and result must be confirmed by testing the platform.

Possible processing paths

Download

When the platform exposes image or report files, we follow its page flow and package the result.

Conversion

Some platforms require images to be organized or converted. The result identifies its source and file type so converted files are not presented as source DICOM.

Export

When the platform provides an export or study package function, we use that platform flow for the images and report.

If the link cannot be processed yet

Confirm that it has not expired, the verification details are correct, and the study still opens in the hospital page. If automatic processing is unavailable, submit an adaptation request. We check the actual page instead of relying on the hospital domain alone.

Direct processing or adaptation?

An integrated hospital entry that passes the current link checks can proceed as shown on the form. A working viewer that is not integrated can be submitted for adaptation. Hospitals using the same vendor may still differ in version, verification rules, and accessible data.

For app- or mini-program-only links, look for a hospital browser-sharing option first. A page containing only a report or screenshot does not establish access to a full study.

What to provide for an adaptation request

The available records and their source determine what can be delivered. Download, conversion, and export describe different ways to obtain files, and the result explains which one was used.
